Wansbeck Gymnastics and Trampolining Club (WGTC)

WGTC currently has 300 members with an additional 200 more on waiting lists. The Club is looking to purchase new equipment to improve training opportunities and ensure that all members can reach their true potential. The funding will also provide additional training for its existing coaching staff, who are mostly volunteers.

Our goals:

  • To encourage the uptake of gymnastics and trampolining in Northumberland through the provision of high quality facilities and coaching.
  • To ensure that gymnastics and trampolining is financially accessible within an environment that supports opportunity for all.
  • To inspire members to reach their full potential within the sport.

How we will achieve our goals

WGTC is an ambitious club with great plans for the future. A Community Award would allow the Club to purchase new equipment to develop gymnastics skills and provide further training opportunities to its coaching staff. In turn, this would support members in the development of new skills without having to increase training costs across the club.

Where the money will go

In addition to the existing 300 members that train at the club each week, it would also allow the Club to run more classes to accommodate the 200 people on its current waiting list. The Club would also be in a position to highlight the benefits of gymnastics and trampolining more widely through interaction with local schools and sports clubs.
