Timsbury Preschool Active Outdoor Space
Our project is to improve the outdoor space we have at our preschool to encourage the children to be more active for longer, allowing ‘free-flow’ between our outdoor and indoor spaces. It will benefit the children who attend our preschool, who are between 2 and 5 years old.
- To create an exciting play environment for our preschool children
- To increase the amount of time our preschool children spend outside
- To increase the amount of physical activity undertaken by our preschool children outside
How we will achieve our goals
The Community Award would be used to buy the equipment we need to get the children more active. We have volunteer parents willing to tidy up and decorate our outdoor space, helping us get it ready.
Where the money will go
Our community includes our children and the parents of our children. It has been shown that greater outdoor physical activity promotes good behaviour in children, creating a sense of calm. The children, their parents and ultimately the local school will benefit from active and calm children, which should promote better learning so happier families.
