Refurbishment of Changing Rooms
A redesign and refurbishment of the changing facilities to benefit all our cricketers. Tired and worn out facilities make it difficult for people to start or keep involved in their chosen sport and they can be more expensive to maintain and run. In addition we have seen an increase in female players and need to provide them with a separate area.
- The refurbishment and redesign of the upstairs will allow us to provide modern changing facilities for all our cricketers, both male and female, encouraging them to stay involved with cricket and helping with their health and wellbeing.
- We hope the new facilities will attract more members and visitors to the club, as well as getting more people involved in cricket.
- We already have other sports groups who use our changing facilities, including a local Cycle Club. We envisage that the modernisation will encourage other groups in the wider community to use the club.
How we will achieve our goals
Gaining the Community Award would allow us to start work on the refurbishment of the changing facilities during the closed season so that they are ready to welcome all the boys, girls, men and women at the start of next season.
Where the money will go
We regularly hold events for the wider community including galas and family fun days. Junior training on a Friday evening means that people come together in one place who otherwise might not meet. Improved facilities will encourage more local/community groups to use our club and hence we will continue to thrive as we have done since 1884.
