(East Riding of Yorkshire)
This project is for Ebor Vale Riding for the Disabled. The quad is the fundamental mode of transport used on the site to ensure the provision of sessions can take place. It is also used for field maintenance , in hygiene of manure and repair of fencing and field shelters .
- To promote the health and well being of our disabled carriage drivers and riders. Our equipment is stored in a hanger some way off the riding arena and fields. We use the quad to tow a large trailer which carries all the equipment required to run each session, and return it back again at the end of each session.By using the equipment we can ensure the horse riding and carriage driving sessions incorporate games sessions, physical coordination skills , communication skills and lots of fun. The sessions are enjoyed by riders, carriage drivers and volunteers alike.
- To ensure the health and well being of our volunteers. Our average field clearers age is 60+ and the volume of manure to be moved is vast and daily. The use of quad and hydraulic trailer would fulfill this objective
- To ensure the continuation of a carriage driving and horse riding service for the disabled in a rural community area. With the health and wellbeing of horses/ponies and volunteers the service can continue.
How we will achieve our goals
The project would be achieved by the purchase of a quad or quad and trailer
Where the money will go
Being in a rural area we provide a local recreational facility for disabled clients which is in great demand and through enjoyed by our current riders and carriage drivers. We always have a waiting list. Without a quad we would struggle on a daily basis .
