Lingwood & Strumpshaw Air Scouts

(Norfolk)

To carry out emergency structural repairs to the floor of the Scout Hut, and to provide a floor covering which is safe for children to use. Also to facilitate disabled access to the Scout hut.

Our goals:

  • To provide a safe environment for young people to engage in a range of activities, including Judo, Air Rifle shooting, Scouts, and other local community groups to meet in the building.
  • To provide disabled access for all users of the building.
  • To enable the provision of youth activities to grow and flourish in the local community.

How we will achieve our goals

A recently revitalised group has done a lot of work on the scout hut already. The group reaches out to children in a relatively poor rural area where there are limited facilities available. The floor is in danger of collapse due to the increased numbers of people attending the group.

Where the money will go

It will provide a safe meeting place for Scouts and other local community groups. It will enable disabled access, and allow the hut to be more widely used.
