Kodokan Judo Droitwich

(Worcestershire)

JUDO FOR ALL is a huge focus of our school so everyone, even our experienced instructors, volunteer to keep fees low. We need to replace the specialist Mats and equipment to continue to bring events to our local community and share the benefits of Judo.

Our goals:

  • To buy Mats that are IJA approved & safe for people to try Judo at events. The mats are moved around so durable and long lasting ones are required. We want to continue to share Judo with our community and attract new members to support our School.
  • To buy equipment so members can improve their Judo skills & have the opportunity to overcome greater challenges safely. New equipment will add variety and fun to lessons so members keep coming to our school to support us for many years to come.
  • To share the lifelong learning and ethos of Judo. It’s so much more than physical fitness. We learn how to overcome fears and become better people through discipline, respect and understanding. We all learn together and support each other.

How we will achieve our goals

Funding would make our community events possible and greatly change lessons to be varied and even more fun. Supporting us would help build confident and caring individuals who in turn then seek to support others through “the Judo way of life”. With the community award we can reach more people with Judo’s valuable lifelong skills.

Where the money will go

Judo is unique, anyone can participate including most disabled persons. Judo creates well rounded individuals and role models that can make a positive difference with their friends, families and in our community and beyond. We welcome all, we’re friendly and family orientated and want everyone we meet to benefit from Judo and this project.
