Improvement of Harrisons Football Ground
The improvement of the extremely poor facilities at Harrisons Football Ground where seven of our teams currently play. The current portacabin changing rooms have no power, no lighting, no hot water and the toilets have been vandalised. Their renovation would ensure the Wyrley Juniors teams and wider community had safe facilities to use regularly.
- To provide safe facilities for our youngsters to use when training and competing in football matches.
- To further encourage the expansion of grass roots football within the community. Currently 7 WJ Teams use the poor conditions at the Harrisons. Its renovation would ensure other club teams (and future teams) could utilise the facilities.
- To provide facilities that can be used by the wider community.
How we will achieve our goals
The changing facilities would be renovated. The funds would ensure the changing rooms had appropriate facilities – each changing room to have separate showers (one of which would have a disabled seat) allowing the development of disability teams at WJFC). and plumbed WC facilities and hand basins. Also electrical lighting would be installed.
Where the money will go
It would provide youngsters with safe facilities to use when playing sports. It would further encourage the playing of sports for young people of varying ages and abilities, enabling the club to fulfill its aim of meeting the demand from any individual who wants to play the game of football – including club members and the wider community.
