Highworth Phoenix Diving Club poolside platforms

Highworth Phoenix Diving Club runs twice weekly to offer diving tuition in a fun and safe environment. The Rec pool already has a 1m springboard and a 3m diving platform, however the pool water is deck-level and some removable poolside diving platforms will greatly enhance the training opportunities for the Club members, children and adults alike.

Our goals:

  • Purchase bespoke poolside diving platforms and have them installed.
  • To provide a fun and safe environment for participants of all ages and abilities to develop their diving aquatic skills.
  • To improve the facilities available locally to support the ongoing development of competitive divers.

How we will achieve our goals

The Community Award will facilitate the purchase of the diving platforms,

Where the money will go

The Club attracts people from all over Highworth, Swindon, Wiltshire and into Gloucestershire being the only pool with diving facilities in the area. The community will be able to benefit from better training from small raised platforms than the current deck-level pool side.

Please vote for us! Our divers (aged from 5 to 75!) work so hard to achieve their dream but are always at a disadvantage. Our deck level pool, beautiful though it is, means that in diving from the poolside the divers start with their feet in the water. The poolside platforms are approximately 10 inches high and at least bring our young divers up to the correct level to begin their diving careers. Who knows how far they can go!
