Helping Victims of Domestic Violence

The project will benefit victims and their families that have suffered domestic Violence to become survivors. Currently we are having to rent a van each time which means we miss out on a lot of household items that members of the public would like to donate because we are unable to collect it until we are moving a victim into their home.

Our goals:

  • By having a van a we will be able to grow the charity and help move more families to become survivors. We will be able to make regular collections of item which will mean we are able to donate more items to these families and help them start again.
  • By having equipment to give to the families it will mean that it will take the stress and worry away from them and they will be able to concentrate on starting their new life with their children away from the physical, sexual, mental abuse.
  • We would be able to grow the charity and also be able to help families in outreach with our appeals to be able to provide them with items that they would not normally have everyday items like shampoo's sanatary items and clothing items they need/

How we will achieve our goals

By having a community award it would be the difference in the charity being able to continue its work and not being able to continue the work. In the last year we have changed statistics in the number of victims going back to the perpetrator – 80% of the victims we have helped have sustained a new life with their family with only 3 returning back.

Where the money will go

The project covers the whole of Wiltshire, we also get a lot of families from outside the area that come to the refuges to get away from the violence. this can be anything from sexual abuse to having petrol poured over them and lit matches thrown at them. from being gang raped to having no money to buy the simple daily items. this will change lifes
