Groby Community Library

Groby Community Library would like to promote digital literacy and Internet access for all ages in our community and therefore would like to invest in IT equipment to help our community access information via a number of formats.

Our goals:

  • Invest in IT equipment to enable children to access information via a different format in addition to library books which will help the children at homework club.
  • Invest in IT equipment to promote digital literacy courses and Internet access for ALL ages.
  • Invest in IT equipment to introduce children coding clubs.
£5k project Currently ranked 3 in Community Groups

How we will achieve our goals

Groby Community Library is a registered charity and our yearly income generated from donations, book fines, photocopier income and room hire amount to less than £5k a year and gets used to cover our yearly costs. We therefore appreciate the funding from a Community Award to achieve our objectives we outlined when we became a community run library.

Where the money will go

The project will benefit all ages of the community because we will introduce IT workshops which will appeal to children, young adults and retired village residents.
