Floodlights for the North Queensferry Multi-Use Games Area
North Queensferry in Fife has never had any sports facilities of its own. So the community centre has secured a piece of land adjacent to the community centre in the village, to build a Multi Use Games Area. With the Community Award We would like to install flood lights. It is proposed that the facility will be open and free to use.
- Inviting everyone of all ages to take part in an active life. The new facility would bring huge opportunity for local residents, visitors and the wider community to engage in different sports and activities including evenings and winter afternoons.
- Provide opportunities for sporting use, but also for social engagement and enjoyable activities - including tennis, basketball and football which we already know will be extremely popular.
- Provide a training home for the active North Queensferry Football Club that has great growth potential with the new MUGA - for children of all ages with floodlights that allow for after school and evening training all year round.

How we will achieve our goals
With the Community Award, North Queensferry would have not just a Multi-use Games Area but one that can be used with Floodlights – all year round and provide greater opportunity for after school and evening activities giving it greater potential for increasing the active life and enjoyment of adults and children alike.
Where the money will go
The addition of floodlights to the new area brings greater and wider access opportunities for the community. In Scotland we often face more extreme weathers and darker afternoons in winter so floodlights will literally light up the way to greater active enjoyment of a tremendous facility – the first time we have had decent sports facilities ever.
