Euan's Play Space
Renewal of the play space currently in Portpatrick. It is run down and limited in its appeal. Renewal of the space will appeal to both local children, and the thousands who flock to the village every year. The village would like to do this in memory of our son Euan who was a regular visitor to the park before he passed away, aged 4, in January.
- The aim is to ensure that Euan's play space will provide a focus in the community to encourage children and families to spend more time outdoors and engage in physical activity.
- The second objective is to provide a place of reflection for a community grieving for the loss of a popular young child of the village.
How we will achieve our goals
£25,000 would enable us to complete phase one of the play space which entails the replacement of existing equipment. Because of the memorial nature of the project the manufacturer has committed to sell the equipment at cost price and it will be installed by volunteer labour.
Where the money will go
The village desperately needs a focus where children and young families can meet outdoors to share time around unorganised physical activity. This project will provide such a location.
