ATC - A Go-Go

(Derbyshire)

All the Squadron Cadets are offered a varied opportunity to experience activities. The purchase of a lockable trailer would enable more cadets to be transported, as their equipment would be in the trailer. Members of the public at events would also benefit from the service given by these Cadets.

Our goals:

  • The objective of the project is to purchase a lockable trailer. More Cadets would be able to be transported to participate in activities, or Community Service, thanks to not having to carry equipment in the minibus.
  • By purchasing a trailer in which we could securely carry hiking/camping equipment, climbing ropes or our base, tenor and snare drums, we would make available more space in the minibus for Cadets.
  • With a lockable trailer we are able to transport more Cadets and equipment, which would increase the Cadet participation at larger Community events, such as Military Tattoos, Sheep Dog Trials, Secret Gardens, Wings and Poppy Appeal Collections.

How we will achieve our goals

The squadron owns a 14 seater minibus which is used for both the transportation of Cadets and equipment. Without the use of a lockable trailer, numbers and the amount of equipment carried are limited. The Community Award would enable the Squadron to purchase a lockable trailer to carry equipment leaving the minibus for more Cadets.

Where the money will go

By the end of their time as a cadet they will be self-motivated, confident, disciplined and capable persons ready for anything, with qualifications and experience that will sets them apart from the crowd when they head to university or begin their chosen career. This will be an asset within the community.
