Equipment for CoB Synchronised Swimming Club
Re-Equip the City Of Bristol Synchronised Swimming Club, which has suffered from a lack of funding following the withdrawal of all funding by Sport England. This will benefit over 100 girls, from all social backgrounds from Bristol and the surrounding counties.
- Replace broken music and speaker systems for training, which will hugely boost the morale, enjoyment and potential of the girls in both local and national competitions.
- To provide additional part time coaches to benefit up to 50-100 girls and boys new to the sport over the year.
- To provide new equipment to enhance the training that the girls receive. A reserve stock of this equipment will assist families who struggle to afford it all.
How we will achieve our goals
The community award would enable us to invest in the girls training and competition. Without it we would have to rely solely on limited subscriptions and local fundraising, which is not enough to sustain the equipment or number of coaches we need to train more girls from starter level all the way through to national competitions.
Where the money will go
The club is on track to send 2 of their top swimmers to the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, inspiring the younger girls in the club and from Bristol. Many of the pools used are in deprived areas in Bristol, so extending our ability to provide value courses to the local community will benefit & encourage more girls from these areas into the sport.
