Enhancing Spiritual Care
The project will enable Bluebell Wood to offer comprehensive, accessible and holistic spiritual care to all children and families both in the hospice and out in the family home. It would enable to staff to have a greater understanding of diversity and cultural needs, therefore promoting understanding and respect for difference.
- To provide all families who use Bluebell Wood with an accessible and comprehensive spiritual care offer which is flexible enough to respond to individual family needs as required.
- To ensure that all relevant staff and volunteers are trained to understand and support religious and cultural needs before, during and after the death of a child.
- To develop and maintain a network of multi-faith and spiritual care providers, who can be accessible to respond to individual family needs as required.
How we will achieve our goals
A Community Award would enable Bluebell Wood to resource, educate and integrate all elements of spiritual care into a comprehensive holistic offer that is responsive and sensitive to individual needs at a time when families are at their most vulnerable.
Where the money will go
This project will benefit the community in two ways. Firstly, by ensuring that families can access the spiritual care and support they need without delay and/or be introduced to spiritual care in a safe environment. Secondly, by integrating the hospice into a spiritual care network and sharing knowledge around end of life care for our children.
