Deiniolen Nursery School (Cylch Meithrin) improvement to play area
We are looking to improve the outside play space for the Nursery School in Deiniolen, a small village in a deprived area of North Wales. The current yard is just a bare concrete area with metal fencing and we would like to resurface with a safe surface, including road markings and provide new play equipment to encourage outdoor play and learning.
- To provide a safe outdoor space for the children attending the Nursery School. This is currently approximately 30 for this school year, but will benefit hundreds of children in the future.
- To encourage healthy outdoor play for all. Ensuring that all the children, including any children who need extra assistance, can get outside and get some fresh air and exercise.
- To ensure that all children have the opportunity to learn about growing plants and vegetables.
How we will achieve our goals
We would be able to fund the resurfacing work and purchase new play equipment so that that children can be safe in their play. We would also be able to buy some raised planters to teach the children about growing plants and vegetables and the award would also mean we can get some secure storage so that the equipment can be kept safe.
Where the money will go
It would mean that the children from the community who come to the nursery school have a safe and educational place to play. The area is also used during the carnival week for disco evenings and other community events and a safer space with a new surface would make this a more enjoyable and better area to use
