Clevedon Swimming Club Training Development

(Avon)

To enhance, maintain, and develop training opportunities and resources for our swimming club members by: facilitating long course training through Olympic pool hire, dry-side training with gym sessions, introducing a fun element to training and improving coaching aids, promoting health and fitness and enhancing member development pathways.

Our goals:

  • To improve the accessibility of our club to the local community, ensuring local swimmers are afforded the same opportunities here as in neighbouring regions and allowing us to harness and develop talent locally to national competition level and beyond.
  • To allow us to promote our brand as a family friendly, local provider of competitive sports training within the community with focus on health, skills, strength and stamina.
  • To evolve our training to match the needs of the sport and the community ; providing pathways into other aquatic sports by diversifying our training provision.

How we will achieve our goals

Offering a diversified training portfolio through improving our equipment will help the club to maintain members levels and to retain teen members. The equipment will allow us to maximise swimmer potential locally, enable stronger links with ASA partners to enhance member pathways and allow us to maintain our strong position in team leagues.

Where the money will go

Improving local health by offering local competitive pool and land training, and improving long course swim strategy. Maximising member potential and increasing our presence at national and international events to help raise the profile of the sport & club. Coaches, young volunteers and members will benefit from diversified training opportunities.

A comment from one of our ex-swimmers:
I’ve grown up with Clevedon Swimming Club being more or less my second home – lost count on how many hours I spent in that pool… All the people behind the success of the club work incredibly hard to provide the very best for its swimmers and it wouldn’t be where it is today without these brilliant people & their determination, therefore please spare a minute and vote for this amazing club, they truly deserve it!
