Chewton Mendip School & Community Tyrepark

(Somerset)

In a village with no play area for children, the primary school currently offers its own facilities for the community. The new tyre park will extend this inclusive resource, benefiting not just the school’s pupils, but every child in several nearby villages.

Our goals:

  • To extend the school's range of outdoor play equipment
  • To improve the exercise facilities available to children in the community

How we will achieve our goals

In a county with limited resources & many small primary schools, funding of projects presents a considerable challenge. The school’s pupils have worked hard to raise money towards replacement of worn out play equipment, yet the facilities remain limited. Securing these funds would enable the purchase of an exciting, new tyre park.

Where the money will go

This project would be a considerable enhancement of the limited play facilities in Chewton Mendip School, enriching the children’s lives, offering increased exercise opportunities, development of physical skills and fun!

The village has a trunk road running through the heart of it which is fast and dangerous. Having one area where children can be taken to play safely is vital to the village.
