Breckland Flora Group

(Norfolk)

Breckland Flora Group is a team of retired people who keep active and sociable by learning specialist botanical skills, whilst also contributing to conservation of nationally important wildlife.

Our goals:

  • A sense of purpose and local pride by helping sustain the unique and nationally important plants of Norfolk's Breckland area.
  • Learning new specialist skills from expert ecologists and in time sharing those skills with others
  • Keeping active and in touch with like minded people in retirement by getting out and about in the countryside close to home

How we will achieve our goals

The funding will pay for training and skills development as well as the specialist equipment needed to make a difference. The group will become real experts with a meaningful contribution to make to conservation

Where the money will go

A sense of pride of helping the unique flowers and associated wildlife to flourish, and the chance for a wider group of all ages to join in later
